PROJE HAKKINDA
Developing healthy eating habits isn’t as confusing or as restrictive as many people imagine and good nutrition is essential for children to grow properly, do their best in school and be healthy and happy in the future. So, schools must take a 'whole school approach' to all the food and drink that is provided and consumed both in school and outside. Schools have long been considered a primary target to deliver nutrition education. Along with the role of schools in providing education in general, school children are at the phase of life when they are acquiring habits that will last a lifetime; and children are an important link between school and home and community. So, we designed a number of activities to create awareness to the snacks around us, to point out the harmful effects of them, share our knowledge about local substitutes to these unhealthy snacks, and disseminate our experience using various digital tools.
• Conducting an investigation/ inquiry process to define the bad eating habits in the students’ own environment.
• Providing knowledge and skills about the relationship between a good diet, and health.
• Addressing the healthy preparation of food.
• Providing media and marketing literacy to students, especially related to food and beverages.
• Sharing the overall experience by using various web 2.0 tools.
• Involving teachers in imparting health messages to students.
